The Knocknamork Renewable Energy Project received planning consent in January 2020 for the wind farm and the solar photovoltaic array. Knocknamork Limited is now in the position to apply for planning permission for the associated substation and underground cable grid connection to the Eirgrid substation in Ballyvouskill.  The purpose of this website is to inform the local community of this proposal. This development will provide a significant contribution to achieving the country’s renewable energy targets and assist in reducing Ireland’s dependency on fossil fuels. The proposed development will generate direct and indirect local jobs and provide investment in the area through local authority rates / contributions. A community benefit fund will be made available to fund local initiatives as decided by the local community.
